Award Free Blog
After many, many awards presented to me by lovely fellow bloggers, I have decided to make this an AWARD FREE BLOG.
Receiving an award is undoubtedly a wonderful thing – a confirmation that you’re doing something right, that people spend time in your virtual kitchen, and appreciate what you do.
I felt really bad last year when I had to thank people for an award and then tell them that I couldn’t pass it on because I didn’t have the time anymore. During these last years of blogging I realised that photography and blogging – a very large part of my hobbies – has become more time intensive, especially as you progress and the expectations you have in yourself grow. Which is why I decided to join other bloggers and make this an award free blog.
I subscribe to a lot of food blogs, there is so much great stuff out there, which is why I appreciate these nominations even more. I always try to show my appreciation for other blogs by leaving comments and staying in contact with other bloggers, which is a lot of fun, too.
Being an award free blog does not mean I don’t appreciate your contacting me or your comments – on the contrary! Receiving comments always makes me happy – after all readers are the main ingredient of every virtual kitchen!

…was the day I almost fell off my chair when I saw how many hits I suddenly had on my blog. Turned out it was due to a WordPress feature on my Blood Orange Panna Cotta.
Funnily, the same day a news item appeared on Spiegel Online about WordPress experiencing a DoS attack. The WP screenshot shown at the news website also showed my WP feature post, it was even highlighted. I’m sure that also helped with getting this exorbitant amount of hits.
I have to admit, though, that I have silently cursed that post a lot of times since. Why? Because I feel it’s neither my best post nor my best recipe. But a lot of people still keep visiting that one post only.
The same month I received a Stylish Blogger Award, passed on to me by Melissa from Life is Grace.
I made a little fruit & cheese experiment which went really well and was rewarded by FoodPress by being featured under “Today’s Specials”: Tête de Moine with Cherry Pepper Sauce.
