Eggless Chocolate Mousse {Other People’s Recipes}

Welcome to another of my Other People’s Recipes post. This was another success, so at the moment it’s 3 out of 4 that I really liked.

A few years ago I found an eggless chocolate mousse recipe, and I loved that mousse. Unfortunately, this was not only a few years ago but also a few laptops ago, which means that I lost the bookmark when the laptop crashed. For the life of me, I couldn’t find that recipe again.

Nothing else I found online sounded like that recipe, so when I found this one by Sweetness & Bite, I decided to give it a go. Three ingredients, very short prepping time, no chef skills required – perfect.

The result was quite perfect, too, for my tastes. I halved the recipe (and no, I did not eat these 3 little espresso cup sized ones in one go…) and used 40 % cocoa chocolate instead of dark because I’m a milk chocolate lover.

I would definitely make this again, although I would try even milkier chocolate; my 40 % turned out quite dark; however, it still tasted very, good!

The only thing that didn’t work for me was my presentation – my piping skills are shoddy at best, but in this case my very last piping bag got destroyed in the process, so I filled it all in a freezer bag for piping, hence, as I said on Instagram, this presentation to me looks more like little piles of 💩… 🤣 .

Nevertheless, if you’re one who handles a piping bag well, this is a great little dessert for a dinner or on a party buffet!

By the way, in all the excitement about making this, I’d forgotten that I had wanted to add some of my homemade hazelnut syrup to the mix. Oh well, good excuse to make this again soon…
